CERVICAL CANCER VACCINE
Gardasil
The health department is offering free cervical cancer vaccine Gardasil to females 9-26 years old. The vaccine is the only vaccine that may help guard you against diseases caused by human papillomavirus (HPV), which causes 70% of cervical cancer cases. It is still very important to continue regular pap tests. Gardasil is given as 3 injections (2 months, 4 months, 6 months).
HPV is easily transmitted. The vaccine is more effective before their first sexual contact. If you have already been infected with HPV, you may still benefit from the vaccine. Please contact the health department for more information. |
